Timothy J. Kulbago, CEO
Tim has over 16 years of experience in the medical imaging industry. He has held several executive positions including General Manager, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. Most recently he was responsible for two businesses within Merge Healthcare (NASDAQ: MRGE). Tim was formerly the Chief Technology Officer of RIS Logic , a Solon Ohio based start-up company which created an industry-leading information system for radiology practices. Before joining the medical industry, Tim spent several years as a Research Assistant at the Applied Research Laboratory at The Pennsylvania State University, developing virtual reality training and visualization systems. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland Ohio with studies in Computer Science, Physics and Math, and was honored with their “Distinguished Physics Alumnus Award” in 2004. He has a Master’s Degree in Acoustics from The Pennsylvania State University.
Brett A. Hoover, VP of Sales and Marketing
Brett has over 11 years of experience in Biotechnology and Life Science as a researcher, product manager and commercialization specialist ensuring knowledgeable communications and smooth transitions from the needs assessment/sales process to customer utilization. Prior to joining ImageIQ he functioned as a product manager for the Clinical Tissue Engineering Center (CTEC) and as a commercialization specialist for the Armed Forces Institute for Regenerative Medicine (AFIRM), both of which are located at Cleveland Clinic. In 2004 Brett was awarded the National Institutes of Health’s Young Investigator Grant Award for his work with stem cells and tissue engineering, and in 2010 one of his technology projects was awarded $2.2M through the Ohio Third Frontier Commercialization Program. In 2009, one of Brett’s early-stage technology start-up companies was a semi-finalist at the Oakridge National Labs Global Venture Challenge. While at Cleveland Clinic, Brett worked with Amit Vasanji and his team for 5+ years on various imaging-based technology development projects. Brett has a BA in Biology, Chemistry and Art History, and a Master’s in Cell and Molecular Biology and Entrepreneurial Biotechnology, all from Case Western Reserve University.
Amit Vasanji, Chief Technology Officer
Amit has over 12 years of experience with basic and clinical research image acquisition, processing, analysis, visualization and software programming. He was the founder of Cleveland Clinic’s Biomedical Imaging and Analysis Center, and served as its Executive Director. During his tenure at the Cleveland Clinic, he authored over 50 publications — many in high impact journals, participated in the writing of a number of funded grants, served as a consultant and co-investigator on federal, state, corporate, and institutional grants, presented at national scientific meetings, and won numerous awards for innovation and service. Dr. Vasanji received a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami, and a PhD in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
Shanda Coomes Bland, Chief Operating Officer
Shanda joined the ImageIQ leadership in early 2013 with over 15 years in medical imaging, healthcare delivery and technology experience. Here, Shanda leads the team with the primary responsibility to ensure the consistent and quality delivery of ImageIQ’s software and services. By implementing systems and processes that support the highest quality and on-time delivery, she ensures that ImageIQ continues to deliver the “wow factor” for every project. Her depth of experience in the radiology and healthcare management ensures superior communication and clinical understanding.
Prior to joining ImageIQ, Shanda served as a leader in numerous roles throughout outpatient diagnostics and informatics. She created organizational excellence in diagnostic imaging in roles such as hers as Chief Operating Officer for Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging, a Kentucky based outpatient imaging center. Subsequently, she utilized her technology meets process management acumen as the Owensboro Medical Health System Administrative Director for the creation, implementation and roll out of the Epic Community Connect EHR within an eleven county service area throughout Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
Shanda has earned several awards from the Radiology Business Managers of America (RBMA) and is a recognized leader in business and operational management demonstrated by her service in various local professional societies as well as her multiple terms as the User Group President for Merge Healthcare’s RIS/PACS business. Shanda earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from Oakland City University, and a Master of Science in Health Administration (MSHA) from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
